Re: Cromadora wheels
There's a fair amount of controversy about refinishing Cromodora wheels. They were originally made in a magnesium/aluminium alloy under the brand name Elektron. I doubt it is high in magnesium though because they don't seem to corrode the way some mag wheels do. They were originally passivated with ...

Re: Carello Headlights
Just remember that the patterns in the glass are different for countries that drive on the right and left. This is so that the dipped beams head off toward the kerb side. So make sure they are the ones you need.

Hi Georg, what chemical did you use to strip these? It looks like it has removed the dow layer too?

Re: "Time warp" Dino Spider 2400
Hi Dinoswede, thanks for explaining the body similarities - I thought as much. I think, if I recall correctly, that the comment about no body panels in common actually came from Mike Morris's book - I know I've seen it repeated in many magazines.

Re: Rebirth of a Dino
Congratulations! You have done some amazing work on this restoration. Everyone of course is going to make their own decisions about the way they restore their car. So I am going to ask - what was the reasoning for deleting the front indicators? These are such an iconic component and balance the stan...

Re: which wheels
My two cents worth, if you're not bothered by originality is
- original Cromodora CD1 without black paint and with 135BS spider hub caps
original Cromodora CD1 without black paint and with Ferrari 246 GT caps, exposing the bolts
16" Campagnolo reproductions

Re: Dino Spider ventilation grill per set
Interested in a set of these as well. Is the front textured? It looks like in in the pictures. If that is the case, is that original? Hi, most 3D printing shows lines of texture. Depending on the plastic used for the printing this can be lightly sanded off or sanded and painted. One company produce...

Re: New member introduction
Welcome! I'm not sure what the original chrome on the plastic switches would have been but you can possibly have them vacuum metalized - like this: http://www.lucentt.co.nz/painting-on-plastic . This requires quite a big facility - not the sort of thing a small business would have. Failing that you ...

Re: Rear headlights Coupe 2000
Hi Alfred, do a quick search of Ebay and you will get an idea of what they sell for. Beware of silly prices though where there were no bids. Vendilo Roma are asking 170 Euros for one back only (no lenses) and it looks a bit dull and rusty. What you have is rare and unavailable new therefore valuable...
