Re: Nice looking 2L Spider at Dorotheum

Impressive result indeed. What pandemic? I have always wondered why Dino Spiders had such basic interiors compared to the Bertone coupe. Towards the end of the production run I believe leather was offered as a factory option. It certainly suits the car. Despite being a departure from originality whi...

Under carpet insulation

Hi, I would like advice on under carpet sound/heat insulation. I have self-adhesive Dynamat on the floor pans but am looking to lag the bulkhead and footwell with something that will take up some of the heatsoak. Your recommendations would be welcome.

Re: Nice looking 2L Spider at Dorotheum

It certainly looks absolutely stunning. In my opinion this is one of the best colours on a Spider. On first sight the rear badging and a couple of other cosmetic details looked wrong to my eye but I am no expert on early Spiders so my comment may be unwarranted. I hope it attracts the sale price it ...

Does anyone know this car? It looks generally nice to my eye, though there are one or two things that are obviously wrong.

Re: lovely example for sale. 1971 spider

Not to nitpick, but... Fiat 124 tool kit and door pulls. (Were those door pulls standard on the very last 2400 Spiders? even so not right on a 71 car - ask me how I know!) That being said it is a stunning example.

Five year restoration...complete!

I have just got my car back after a meticulous five year restoration at the hands of UK Dino guru Mark Devaney - see photo blog at https://www.hugoharris.com/ I'm still running the engine in so taking things gently, but she is a joy to drive. Happy to provide further details of any of the work done....

Re: Fuel additive

Thanks Tim. It's the ethanol content I am concerned about, I have heard it can do damage to the fuel system though I have no direct experience of this. In the UK ethanol is added to regular 95 octane unleaded at 5%. Some companies add it to their premium 98 octane petrol, some don't, and some appare...
