My mechanic has just pointed out that my bonnet does not have the indentation for the badge on it. I have a 1971 2400 coupe but I'm guessing it has a 2000 bonnet. Am I right in thinking that all the 2400's have the badge indentation in the bonnet?

I didn't really want to open it, I was just wandering of I should, sounds like I shouldn't. I do want to get the lever arm off so that I can blast it and paint. Like you say, ts on very tight but hopefully I can get it off, if not I will have to paint it on the shaft.

Let me know how you get on, as long as the rubber is soft then you shouldn't have any problems.

Yeah, I took out the rear wind screen. It was a lot easier that I expected. Basically, I cut a heap of thin spacers out of some old sheet steel. I lifted the wind screen rubber from the inside of the car and pushed the spacers inbetween the rubber and the glass. I kept inserting the steel right arou...

Thats the route I am going to take, cut a slot in it and then get some heat on it to try and break the bond.
