Re: Rubber mounts differential 2.4
Hi Bijan, I did not know about the existence of these replacement parts in the first way, but i have a Fiat 130 with the same rear axle. Because tracing parts for a Fiat 130 is waste of time, i tried to find a solution for these parts by using some random bushing from another cars rear axle. I just ...

Re: Petronix replacement for points
Worth a try. Just FYI, ALH (on this forum) did quite some tests with different sensors and does not recommend the Petronix because it has several degrees of timing difference between the magnets. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/dino-ignition-alternatives.199982/page-2#post-149288113 -> #37

Re: Stainless steel exhaust
Just my humble opinion. To me the sound from a Dino out of the exhaust is totally irrelevant. In my opinion it does not even have a good sound from the exhaust, regardless of the exhaust system used. All the sound comes from the front, it is a combination of mechanical noise from the engine; whining...

Re: Petronix replacement for points
It does not really look like a genuine MSD magnetic pickup but more like a magneti marelli magnetic pickup as was used in many of the older italian cars from the 80's. I would not be surprised if the actual MSD sensor has a better signal (at low rev's) while it comes with a big magnet underneath the...

Re: Petronix replacement for points
You can just use the standard MSD magnetic pickup. It's partnumber 84661 and it will more or less just bolt in place in an original distributor. Is that also the one you have in there currently? And you must have some sort of reluctorwheel in there as well, how is that one adjusted? It should have a...

Re: Petronix replacement for points
As said, it's not impossible that the MSD is causing problems. The only real reason, from what i've encountered, for MSD systems to malfuction is when it does not have a good ground connection. Than it will discharge via the magnetic sensor, while that is connected to ground via the distributor and ...

Re: Actual piston size
I think, usually they mention the bore size and not really the piston size itself. It also depends on where you measure your piston, on the top they are smaller in diameter compared to the skirt. Piston size is usually measured on the skirt. With a rebuild you also can't go by the piston to wall cle...

Re: Petronix replacement for points
If you have all the right parts it's not difficult to install, but you do need some specific parts for it, do quite some rewiring, do rotor phasing etc etc. If you do it for the first time it's not something you'll do in a couple hours. But why don't you just have your MSD properly tested on a test-...

Re: Differental Problems - any recommendations for repair
Common problem, wrong oil without LSD additives.
Replace the oil for correct LSD oil and chances are quite high that your problem is gone.
