Re: Dino coupe

Dino Service badge.jpg It just depends how good you are as an engineer If you can do virtually everything yourself it is not that expensive! And there are enough possibilities to download workshop manuals. A reasonable second hand PC with the downloaded manuals is just perfect! In any case, that is...

Re: Magnesium valve covers protection and finish (2.0 l engi

If one day I have the possibility to tell the Pebble Beach jury about this topic, please be assured that the evidence that I posess, will be transmitted to them! :D :D :D And I am 100% serious about this! Or do you people also doubt about the word of a world wide respected DINO expert like Mark Deva...

Re: Magnesium valve covers protection and finish (2.0 l engi

Only the 2000 engines had the magnesium covers, and as I calready explaned, the crackle paint came off in big flakes. This could aleady start within 2 years after delivery! Therefore it is rare to find these remainders on a old car. In any case, my list of people who agree with me is growing! 1) the...

Re: 2000 Coupe colours

I received the "Bible" a few days ago. It is the book by Mike Morris if I am not mistaken! It was printed in January 1988. Although I found some inaccuracies in it, it is a very good book to have a very good understanding about our beloved Dino's. Should a reprint be of interest? I sincere...

Re: 2000 and 2400 Dino Coupé restoring and modifying project

Black armrest on my 2000. (See on the left side of the transmission tunnel.) (So that seems to be correct!) Also the inlays from the ashtrays they are also in black. But certain details of the skai interior are in a matching blue leather colour, like for example the part which goes around the handbr...

Re: 2000 and 2400 Dino Coupé restoring and modifying project

Hereby the 2400 interior. (Perhaps I might sell it as I intend to make something very special from the 2400.) :? As for my 2000, I am looking to refurbish the dark blue upholstery, as this was the original interior! (I am also making a list of the missing parts) Certain details are excellent, like t...

Re: Dino engine vs Fiat 130 Coupe engine

The 130 engine was a development by Aurelio Lampredi with the 128 type A engine as basis. Lampredi developed a toothbelt driven version with 2 crossflow cilinderheads and twin overhead camshafts. This engine was now called the "130 type A". It was a 2866 cc engine and produced around 140 B...

Re: Another car that wasn't allowed to bear the famous name

As most of you know, the ASA was also called the Ferrarina!

There was even a special built Ferrarini for the Old Man himself!

Re: Oil type

As regard to modern oils and fuels, there was a recent statement from the Scuderia Ferrari. Hereby the article: A large part of that gain has been put down to the engine, following extensive development over the winter, but the influence of fuel and lubricants is also significant. With the regulatio...

Re: 2.4 spider in Virginia

What a great story and what a beauty of a car you have! Smart burgundy colour combined with the beige soft-top! Super! I myself have great memories of the 2000 Dino Coupé that my Dad had from the beginning of 1968 till 1970. It must have been an early production car, as it was delivered without the ...
