Has anyone removed the brake master cylinder on a 2l coupe and if so do I need to completely remove the whole dash and separate all the instrument wirings first as well as the need to remove the clutch master cylinder ?. On my 2l coupe I removed the two pistons and replaced the seals on my master cylinder as the bore seemed perfect but the rear brakes were not working, but I cant figure out if something is amiss with the master cylinder. I posted a question before about the b pillar mounting points, and my car also being a 67 has never had them so that may also be the case wirh yours.

Hi Ben. Can you post some details of the urethane softener and the hard black urethane that you mentioned as I would like to experiment in making certain parts.

I never found these parts. The bonnet release rubber in the photo is my own attempt at manufacture .

The recess in the gasket prevents it from moving . If you really wanted you could put a dab of contact adhesive between the gasket and bumper. That is what was also used to hold on the rubber boot seal, the front wing rear seal,the sill seals and door jam seal.

You should tape up the wing area then trial fit the bumper to make sure there is a tiny gap.,when satisfied then refit with the rubber end gaskets. If you have compression this will eventually lead to the bumper splitting the gasket.
