Re: Compression Test Results
I fully agree that the wear of the camshafts is a problem and drilling these holes is recommended. I did and do this on every Dino engine I did/do. As compression is build up when the valves are closed it should not influence the compression.

Re: Compression Test Results
That’s not a lot. If the engine does not smoke, delivers power, runs smooth and doesn’t consume much oil It sounds not too bad but but of course it’s difficult too give an opinion from the distance. A TestDrive an an experts opinion on-site is definetly recommended.

Re: Compression Test Results
Compressions close to each other is good as you mention, it is an indication that nothing serious is damaged in one place. The total value is from secondary importance, but from my experience with my Dino engines I have 9,5 to 10,5 bar. Your lower values could show wear, but maybe they have used a t...

Re: 2400 Coupe engine rebuild
Hi Richard, as the pilot bushing is important, cheap and difficult to reach it should be replaced every time you can reach it. When I remember right it is correct that it sticks out. Re: Hood vent and side vent versions
It’s indeed an interesting discussion. I have on my 2,4 the flat ones in black. As one is broken I am looking for a new one or pair.

Re: Hood vent and side vent versions
I think the flat ones in Matt black belong to late 2,4 Coupes. I have spare pairs with hump but I am looking for one flat side one. Do you have one?

Re: removing brake master cylinder
Hi, I can agree to the proposal to remove the whole pedal block. By doing this you get access to everything and can pretty good reach all lines and bolts. To do that the steering column has to be removed. The pedal bock is fixed with four bolts, two from the engine bay two from inside. And you have ...

Hi Richard,
Thanks a lot for sharing this and documenting it so well! Excellent. I feel Lucky that I have not faced yet such problems - but if in the future I know how to proceed, thanks to you!
