Re: Clock Dino 2400 Coupè Need Help

Hi Carlo, and welome! Did your mechanic open up the clock? If so, you can check the diodes with an ohm meter. More than the diode, he could be referring to the transistor (type BC148C, can be replaced with a generic NPN that has h>450) I repaired my clock that was not running, but the problem was me...

Re: Replacement alternator

Hi, I found it at a local auto parts store for 250 € inc VAT. Superformance sells it for about the same (-VAT), but I suppose shipping would be pretty expensive.

Replacement alternator

Hi, my alternator failed recently due to a worn bearing. I'm pretty sure it can be fixed, and I have a schematic if anyone is interested. As it turns out, there is a manufacturer that is selling the same model, but new. It took me some time to find it, and though it might save someone else the hassl...

distributer conversion to optical pickup

Hi, just wanted to report that I decided to swap my working dinoplex and its coil for a luminition optical pickup with the bosch transistorise ignition setup. I had an issue with the points recently, where they had moved/displaced and shorted, leaving me temporarily stranded. I can't say if the faul...

Re: Urgent: dinoplex!!

Thanks, I didn't have an ohm meter handy to see but I managed to get it to run without the ballast resistor. With the resistor, I couldn't get a spark. We managed the last 200 Km home and now I can rest and clean everything up!

Re: Urgent: dinoplex!!

Hi: I think my coil is dead. I have a spare marelli BE200 . It has two contacts: 16 and 1.

Does anybody know how I can connect this role run on points?
Thanks!

Re: Urgent: dinoplex!!

Thank you, that's good to know. I agree the car runs much better with the dinoplex but I thought it drew much more current than the points.

I managed to do 5 hrs of driving with 5 starts on a 95 amp battery. I'll recharge it again tonight and hold on

Urgent: dinoplex!!

Hi, I'm far from home with the dino and the alternator failed. I will be charging the battery at night and using it to do some 300 km during the day. Question: can I start the car wit the dinoplex on normal and the switch it to emergency while the engine is running? The car starts better with the di...

Re: Exhaust manifolds mounting

Sorry, I should have been clearer: unbolt the transmission from the driveshaft and from its support at the back. Don't forget a jack to support it!
