Seat Belts for Dino Coupe 2.4

Post by babyfacemax »

Hello All,

My father recently passed down to me is 1971 2.4L Dino Coupe. I am starting to try and get to know it better and have had the seats redone and figured I should put in a 3 point harness seat belt. Have any of you done this? If so, Where do you mount the seat belt at? Any advice, pictures, or information on the belts to get would be appreciated!

Thanks!!

Where are you located? There's an excellent specialist near London who installed modern inertia-reel belts on my 71 Coupe.

I am in the US unfortunately.... Where are the belts located? Can you send me a pic? Did they have to fabricate something to make it work?

Automatic belts are a bit tricky to install since the belt should be vertical from the reel to the redircetion, but static belts are no problem. The fixing points are already there.

I also drive with Static belts in my 71 coupe. As Tobi stated the fixing Points are already there so you can easily mount Standard aftermarket belts. You find the mounting wholes in the B-Pillar and right and left beneath the seats in the inner sills resp. The middle tunnel. Search for them I am sure you will find them easily.

Thanks for the pictures! I do have the automatic belts so I will have to look into the static ones. Had anyone done it with the automatic belts?

Sorry it's taken a few days, but here are some photos of an installation of automatic (inertia-reel) belts. These are not of my car, but were provided to me as samples by the installer in the UK (http://www.quickfitsbs.com, highly recommended). My own installation was the same as the one depicted. The second image in particular shows the relocation and reinforcement of the mounting points for the front belts. Hope this helps...
