Here are some photos of my 1971 2400 Coupe taken yesterday by the estimable Mark Devaney, who is doing some work on the car before shipping to me in the US. Next to it is Hugo Harris' stunning 2400 Spider, also being fettled at Mark's.

Hi PGC 649K looks great. I owned it in the early 1990's, and it was subject of a feature in Supercar Classics. I remember (fondly?) that I brimmed the tank for journalist Peter Dron, who assured me he would do no more than 100 miles, and that he would have the car back to me late afternoon. He also specifically promosed to repelnish the used fuel This was (more or less) before cell phones, and at 9pm it came back, on the vapours with nearly 200 miles under it's belt. he didn't buy me any fuel. If you see the shots in the magazine he has it almost on it's door handles in the cornering shots. I was a bit annoyed really, using £70 of fuel, and not letting me know where he was. He also was loaned by me a copy of The Other Dino, by Mike Morris, and it took 3 months and 10 phone calls to get it back. Other than all that, it was a good day!
I purchased the car from a Lamborghini specialist, Colin Clarke Engineering, who was selling on behalf of a good customer, Clive Beecham. Clive is big on the Ferrari scene as he owns an ex Stirling Moss 250 SWB (the white car with the blue stripe). Anyway PGC 649K belonged to Clive's wife, and she couldn't get on with it, so it was offered for sale. After about 3 years in my tenure, I sold it to Jon Pitt who cared for it for 15/20 years, and sold it about 2 years ago. It has a rare factory leather interior in tan. Nice car, wish I still owned it!

Hi Brian, nice to hear from you. I'm really looking forward to looking after the car as a long-term owner. I was aware it had been one of yours, as that was cited as a selling point by the last owner! According to Mark Devaney, it remains in lovely and quite original condition, and the caramel leather interior is especially impressive. Before shipping to the US next Spring, it will have had modern inertia-reel safety belts fitted front and rear (already done, with webbing exactly matching the leather), a pair of period chrome Vitaloni rear-view mirrors added, an early 70s Blaupunkt radio and new boot carpet installed, and the various round Dino emblems replaced by original Fiat badges, along with various bits of minor mechanical and electrical work. I've had decent luck tracking down parts, but would love any advice you might be able to give me on sourcing a complete original tool kit and emergency window crank handle. And you wouldn't happen to have a scan of that Supercar Classics feature that you could upload to the Library here, would you?

Not to change the subject but thought i would post this rare photo again for those who haven't seen it…
As I was looking at this photo in more depth I noticed the first Blue Alfa stunning colour , then the last car on the Dino assembly line looks the same ?
The last car on the Alfa side and the third car on the Dino side ?

As we al know how hard it is to find out about paint codes and colours in reference to our Dino's it's much easier to find out about the Alfa Montreal…
It wouldn't surprise me if both cars came out of the same spray booth using the same paint !
Any thoughts ? or do I just need new specks :)

Peter,
Thanks for your note. yes that factory leather interior is scarce, and desirable. I'm sorry but I don't have a copy of that magazine, but I'll try to locate one. I'm pretty certain it was 1990 or 1991 (and 91 rings a bell) so I guess you could start searching ebay. Most vendors list all articles so it's quite easy to find a magazine by searching (say) "Fiat Dino 2400 coupe Supercar Classics" and seeing what comes up.
In regard to tool kits, they are very rare, and starting to be expensive if complete. Can I sugest that you place a "wanted" advert within this forum (not sure if that's feasible in the Market section). Likewise the emergency crank for electric windows. Don't have one, but someone, somewhere would sell one. If you contact me off line (brian.boxall@maxxium.com) I can probably tell you what's in the toolkit, and you can have fun over the winter looking for it bit by bit (for instance the spanners, with FIAT on them must be common to other fiats of the period)
all for now, if I find any of the things you are looking for, I'll get back to you,
Brian

I have heard mention of leather trim being offered as a factory option for the Spider. Has anyone seen one? I would love to see some detailed photos.

Here is my recently purchased 1967 2000 Coupe which I drove to the UK from Lisbon in Portugal in October. It has done just 50000km from new and is in great condition, never having had any rust cut out, but has a whole load of detail to be sorted which I am now working my way though - things like hub caps, front grill and headlight cowls, B badges, etc, etc. Like many other people I am trying to work out what colour it is. I'm told that it has been returned to original after a few years of being red.

Surely it's 661/Grigio Silverstone?
