Reproduction Chassis plates

Was thinking of buying one of these from Superformance as the writing has all but disappeared from my original. The embossed Chassis number and for spares numbers are still visible though.

However the bottom number embossed on my plate is the For spares number.

i.e. No line below for the Color code.

This matches with the rep. chassis plate that Superformance sell , which also doesn't have the Body colour code line at the bottom.

However the couple of chassis plates I have managed to find for 2400 coupe on the internet have the Colour code line at the bottom.

Which style is correct for a 1970 2400 coupe, did the style of the plates change over the course of production ?

Following on from earlier question regarding chassis plates, what is the number at the top of the plate.

It reads Omolgazione I have seen both DGM 7308OM and DGM 5061OM on chassis plates for 2400 Coupe

I have seen this earlier thread - but doesn't really answer what the differences are between the 2 numbers :

Hi

As GranTurismo writes in this topic http://fiatdinoforum.org/viewtopic.php? ... ilit=Color, the 2400Coupe got the color code stamped on the VIN plate from VIN 4480 in January 1971.

Thanks that's great info.
the 2400Coupe got the color code stamped on the VIN plate from VIN 4480 in January 1971.
So the plate on my 1970 2400 coupe with the writing worn away would seem to be original (no colour code), and if I buy the superformance repo. chassis plate it would be correct for my car, as it doesn't havre the colour code line. (It would NOT be correct for a post Jan 1971 car).

Any info. regarding the 2 Homologation numbers used on the 2400 coupe - could Jan 71 be the point at which it changed from 5061OM to 7308OM ?

My December 1969 manufactured 2400 says 5061OM

As far as I know, there are no records.
