Is the wood trim on a 2L Dino Spider real wood (solid or veneer) or 'simulated' wood?

Dino Spider dash and console trim - wood or fake?

Post by Guzzi »

OK, a poll for the community. we're at the point of renewing the 'wood' dash and console trim on a 2L Dino Spider. What's there is almost certainly not original and there are some road tests that make mention (complain) of the fake wood, yet many say it's genuine tree. Your insights are valued, photo evidence even more.

Answering your question about the Spider dash wooden trim - I assume you are aware of that the so-called "early" Spiders should not have a wooden dash at all, but
all the "late" 2 -litre Spiders and all the 2,4 litre Spiders should have a wooden dash made in a thin piece of real wood, some millimeters thick. Myself, I have always
wondered over what kind of wood it is - anyone who knows?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, aware of the difference of the early cars. I actually prefer the early dash.
