At last new set of rockers....
These fiat Dino are known for really bad rockers.... What a job, but will be well worth it once complete.

The Devil is in the detail !
The set of rockers are getting ready to be welded back in place. Hopefully within 45-60 days we will be in the paint stage.....
The nose is getting back to its proper glory, we had to rebuilt the front light assembly.

The new set of rockers are now being fitted before a good sand blast and primer.
Attention to detail is key! Everything must fit like a glove. Getting more solid by the day.
This car getting the full treatment and will be rock solid then finished.

Amazing workmanship a profession that is slowly disappearing I'm not talking panel beaters here but real Craftsmen.

One can really appreciate Pininfarina true imaginary lines.
That is one thing I love about Italian designers, what they draw they fabricate....
From Concept to reality!
The curves of the fenders bare metal are simply amazing.
I can't put my finger on why these curves look so good this morning.
Maybe it the metallic hue?
Or maybe because I have been stuck dealing with rust for the past 9 months.
I can only imagine these Italian guys working the metal back in 71

Now that the car is fully prime. We are focused on the rocker final assembly and doors install and adjustment.
The engine bay.... That is in full need of attention. clean all brake lines. I am looking for all new bradded lines for brake and vacuum house.
I am not sure if any of you know if these old eom relay's are still available.
Mine look pretty rough. I am sure with a bit of TLC they will be fine.
I found a cool piece that connects to the vacuum pump. Its a vert coo piece, look's like a sensor...
Took it apart and found a nice 1/71 date. Always fun to find dates on old car.

Nothing like a nice clean set of brake line and brake supply reservoir.

Getting rid of old Cancer
This car was given a new lease on life. We removed every bit of surface rust that we could see, specially in the front fender arches.
The rockers being all apart was less work than I imagined.
The entire car was originally painted bottle Green color code 317 even inside the engine bay.
We noticed that the inside of the front fender arches where poorly painted and at some places not even painted.
This cause some serious corrosion to set in.
We can now able to go back in time when this car was welded together back in 1971.
Still have to close up the rockers and front panels.
We will repaint the entire car a new color entirely. Azuro blue metalic
Now the big question?
Once the car is entirely painted Azuro....
Do we re spray mat black over the new paint "under body" and "engine bay" all mat black or course .... or do we leave it with the color of the color of the car?
It would appear that the 2.0 where often left original body colors inside the engine bay but not the 2.4
When I found this car, it had been painted green, blue, red and red again.
The under body was originally painted green then covered with tar like material.

The wheel arched where painted green but not sure if they where painted black or tar.....more like dirt, grease and surface rust.
