Rebirth of a Dino

Post by Zorglub »

Hahaha…wheels and tires are new (Dinoparts). Original ones where, let's say, not really roadworthy

And now for the rebirth part.

As you may have gathered, this car and engine were no more than a bunch of rusted metal bits.

Fist order of business was to clean the engine and find out which parts were missing:
Cleaned engine
Cleaned engine
Cleaned heads

Cleaned sump

The sump was later discovered to be leaky. It is very difficult to weld magnesium. In the end, the sump was lined in aluminum
Crankshaft and pistons

The crankshaft was cleaned and balanced. New pistons were ordered
