When ordring a new 2400 Coupe in the 70s there was these 12 colors to choose from.
Four of these was metallic. The rest was more ore less typicel 60s-70s colors.

Most common seems to be:
606 Grigio met
120 Rosso Corsa
448 Azzuro met
735 Nocciola met
238 Champagne
329 Verde medio
603 Grigio betulla
163 Ossido rosso

Rare
661 Grigio silverstone met
601 Nero
435 Blu medio
509 Bigio

This is based on what cars who been for sale the last few years and what you find in internet
Remember that many cars also has got new paint over the years, and not always in it's original color.

Like the Alfa Montreal prodused by Bertone at the same time is is said that there was also possible to put in a spesial order for a spesial color.Se photo under from the Bertone stand.

Not all 2400 Coupe have the color code on the VIN plate. From chassinr 4480 in Januar 1971 they all got it.

There is not so many color kodes you find on both 2.0 coupe and 2.4 coupe.
The only one seems to be 120 Red,601 Black and 603 Grigio betulla

The work done by grand Turismo here and Lincoln Cooper on www.dinoitalia.com is very important because it goes to clarify the color of the 2000cc and 2400cc versions of the Fiat Dino Coupe', indicated incorrectly on the book by Mike Morris ;)

Thanks for the work on this Grand Turismo.

Is it possible that the car pictures for 435 and 448 have been switched? On the paint-code card the 435 Blu Medio looks darker than the 448 color - yet on the car pictures the examples are the other way around. My car is 448 Blu Medio Metallizato but looks far more like the 435 picture.

Thanks,

-Richard

Hi Richard

No switc on the photo 435 and 448.Color 435 is not a met.color but 448 is.The light and setting can give you the wrong impression.
This photo is of a very nice original 448.

Thanks for the new picture. That does indeed look like the colour of my car - therefore I think I am looking for 448.

So I've been trying to buy this paintcode to do some touch-up work - I spoke with the company I usually use (Tower Paints) and they found a Lechler paintcode called Azzurro Blu Metalizzato (but no associated number) - so I bought a can - but this paint is much, much darker than my car. I guess I shouldn't have bought anything without the 448 code.

Anyway, my real question is - does anybody know where you can buy 448 azzurro blu met in small quantities? And if not small quantities, has anybody successfully bought it in large quantities successfully?

Thanks,

-Richard

Hi Richard,
on the market today isn't possible buy the 448 code because the old code Fiat used in the 70 years it is no longuer produced now. If you try to buy using only the code you will have always be differences. The only thing in these cases is take a blue base and with a professional paints correct the color until you reach the right tone (you must take a piece of your dino as a sample, I always use the rear bonnet or the door fuel). Good luck,
Antonio

Ciao Patrizio, yes Lechler produces the code 448 but isn't the same colour to original 448 when the dino out in the '70 years, It is similar but not the same.
