Hi Tobi, I also asked Matthias about this and he gave the same answer but said he wasn't 100% certain (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/206-24 ... ailer.html). My car is #1364 which makes it late 1971 production and came into my ownership wearing period Dino script wheels. Given the value of these items to 246GT owners it seems unlikely that they were fitted to mycar later in its life, but of course that is possible. Maybe the two batches of Cromodora rims overlapped and were used on the production line of both cars. Without definitive records who really knows?

Happy New year to all Dino owners!

Hi Hugo,
The only thing you can be sure about is that there are definitely no exact points in time/VIN that indicate the slight changes. They just used what they had. In your case, most probably your car got rims from a later 246 that has been destroyed or ugraded with other wheels. It doesn't make sense to rack our brains to find a plausible answer to this question since it is very probable that there is no plausible reason.
Cheers,
Tobi
