Bonnet Lining

Post by 500 Dino »

My 2.0 litre is being stripped for respray and the underside of the bonnet is in need of a great improvement!
Maybe the paint should be lightly textured [?] but this is ridiculous. I also understand that all colour cars had satin black in this area and that Spiders had an acoustic liner. My car has 4 x M5 nuts strategically fixed to the inside though, as if there may have been fixings for this lining. Maybe it has 2 strips to hold the material? Have these been added aftermarket?
I doubt having this kind of lining is a good thing anyway, surely we want to hear the engine.

regards

Hi Graham,
thanks for your answer regarding the light blue colour we are searching for!
Please keep me updated if you have some News :-)
Here some pics from my new painted Motorbay and the Bonnet. I have no nuts on my car, so i think it is a aftermarket feature..?
Greetings klaus
