Hard Top - Mounting

Post by Emanuel H »

Does anybody know how the Hard Top is being mounted onto the Spider? Are there any clips or similar to attach the hard top to the C-Pillar? Does anybody have a description or pictures?

Thanks, Emanuel

On the windscreen header rail the hardtop attaches with the same over centre clip that are on the soft top.
At the back a small ledge under the hardtop window attaches to two chrome clips that sit just inside the trunk hinges on the panel between the hood (roof) and the boot (trunk) I'm guessing you don't have those clips otherwise it would be obvious to you. I'm pretty sure they are available from several fiat Dino specialists. I purchased a pair from superformance, but it was some years back. I suggest you contact superformance in the first instance to check availability,

Hi Emanuel,
I did a bit of research for you (too much time on my hands). Superformance list that part under number FIA04025 at £24.95 each to include a rubber gasket. So £50 the pair, plus whatever taxes apply to you.
By the way, don't know if you noticed by we joined the Forum with 22 minutes of each other in Nov 2013. You were first!

Dear Brian

Many thanks for your reply and the identification of the part with Superformance. The reason for my question was a comment by the seller pointing at a metal sheet of ca. 5 by 5 cm sticking out from the hard top just at the position of the C pillar, which he referred to as being a connecting piece to be fixed at the C pillar. The part you refer to (which is incidentally called ‘Soft Top Cover...’) is mounted on my car. I will pick up the top by car, and I want to be sure it will not fly away....

We did indeed start on the Forum almost on the same moment, what a coincidence!
