Match chassisnr and engine nr

Where can I check if the chassisnr and engine nr match for the same Fiat Dino Coupé 2400 (1971)

Hete's my two cents, but the experts can comment if I am not correct...
The small aluminium plate in your engine bay that is screwed on at the passenger side gives you the numbers.
First there us a homologation number (7308)
Then the chassis number ending in a four digit number that gives you the production number of you car.
Then the engine type (starting with 135...) and then the engine number which is a four digit number indicating the production number of the engine.
The four digit production number of the car and that of the engine are different as engines were produced for the other models also.
But the aluminium plate tells you the right combination for you car. The chassis number for your car should also be imprinted in the metal just above the plate. I forgot whre the engine number is, but thought somewhere on thenleftnside of the block. Look around.

And the three digit number that is printed on the last line of the aluminium plate is the original colour number.

I found the engine nr. Its on the passengers side just below the oilfilter.
Homologation nr Ok - engine type = 135 OK
Now I have check the engine nr on the engine
Colournr = OK with the original colour of that time
