DINOPLEX C

Post by patrizio »

L'opera continua ..... :)

This is my Dinoplex C AEC 101CA newly restored.
Replaced the internal components (transistors and capacitor) with original parts, rebuilt the external wiring and purchased a new coil Marelli BZR205A.
The work continues .... :)

Nice set! I'm always happy if I see an original Dinoplex instead of a Bosch conversion or any other third-party ignition system under a Dino hood.
It would be very great if you can let us know where you've bought your BZR205A coil and how much it costs. I know a lot of people who are desperately seeking for this coil. The missing coil is often the reason for a change to a third-party ignition.

The restoration of the Dinoplex cost blood and tears
Finding the coil instead it was a stroke of luck
The asking prices, however, are around 500 Euro .....

So, I understand, there is no source for buying a NOS coil, but you've been lucky to find one.

The Dinoplex looks very nice, congrats! I am curious about the coil, i've never seen a BZR205 with a black top and the sticker is not like any Marelli sticker. Where did you find that one?

Ciao Alh,

Hello Alh,
the workshop that has restored Dinoplex has also restored the Marelli coil and returned it to me as well.
Is the first Marelli BZR205A I see, because my Dinoplex in the eighties was damaged and my father installed aftermarket ignition.
The Dinoplex was preserved, the coil no .....
