Hi
New to the forum and have been researching my no ignition spark issue. My mechanic has concluded that there is power to the coil and power to the Dino plex but (as explained to me) no power to the points. The car has been sitting for 5 to 6 years and the battery is holding a charge. I was under the impression that if the battery was not strong enough the car would not get spark, is that correct?
Also I owned a 2.4 coupe for 13 years and it ran off of the coil only and it ran great. Can you point me to a link where I can bypass the dinoplex short term so I can at least get the car running and get some vitals on the motor. The body is rough but if the motor is as good as the previous owner described doing the body work might be worth it.
Thank you for your advice or simply pointing me to more specific links. I have both new rotors and points so they can replaced if recommended.
Thanks!
John
