Windscreen Fitment

Post by maduno »

One of the next jobs in putting my Coupe back together is the fitment of front and rear windows.Simple question.Do the stainless trim pieces go into the rubber mould before or after the glass is installed? Advice please.

Before!!!

No chance to insert the trim once the glass is intalled.

Hi, don't mean to disagree, but I put mine in afterwards: As I understand they are there to rigidify the moulding once it's installed. It is fiddly, but with soap, water and a small flat screwdriver, it's no problem.

The windscreens go in without too much difficulty, make sure to have plenty of soapy water and the rope around the seal.

Good luck,

In the end , both screens went in with a lot of neat detergent. The rear screen was installed with the moulds in place, but i had to put the bottom mould in after on the front screen. The rope helped but not to the extent I thought it would.A little flat screwdriver is definitely needed to get the mould out in position in various places.
