1972 Fiat Dino 2400 Coupe, White

Post by doorite »

Advise Please......I live in Canada and have this car, it has been in my family since 1986 when it was brought over from Italy. it has 30,000 original miles and is in very good unrestored original condition. It has had Ferrari wheels, steering and emblems added to it but i still have the original steering wheel and it needs a few cosmetic things which will be done this spring and then I plan on selling it. I am having a hard time finding out information on this car as I believe it to be the only one of its kind in Canada and have heard there might be another 1972 2400 coupe in the US. (but again I don't know if this is true) Does anyone know what this car is worth, again I have heard everything from 50k U.S to 125K U.S and again I have NO IDEA! Thx, Doorite

A 2400 Coupe is not that high in value. Spiders are, but not up to 125k. There are a few price discussions here. Just look around.

Would be good to have some pics in order to judge the condition.
As Tobi said, a 2400 Coupe is not as high price as a spider.
The 125K USD rang is maybe something be achieved during a mad action but far from reality for a spider.
A 2400 coupe in good original conditions will sell for prices around 25K - 30K €uro which is apr. 31K - 38K USD.
Mind you, talking about original cars not having matching nbrs, and original interior.

Hi, I think it's important to note a couple of things - not disagreements, just another perspective.

- prices are not necessarily in step between North America and Europe - they generally track the same trends, but can be out of phase
- the 2400 coupe was never officially imported into NA and is pretty rare over here.
- Ferrari 246 Dino pricing in NA has exploded in the past 2 years - and this is having slight, but, I believe, noticeable effects on Fiat Dino pricing
- Maybe more notably, Fiat Dino Spider prices are rising fast - and the Coupe is behind but rising also

so it pays to research the local markets first, talk to some people who have recently bought/sold, go to an auction maybe?- and generally be aware that you're selling in a rising market and to not be hasty - these cars have deserved more recognition for years, and maybe they're about to get it.

Thx for the information, I have started doing some research and will continue, I am in no rush to sell! The car is all original and in very good condition with low miles. My father brought this car into Canada in 86 and almost didn't succeed, they wanted to send it back and originally only allowed it in for 2 years to be used at shows but after the 2 years and some convincing they allowed it to stay! I will be pulling it out of storage in a couple of weeks and will post some pictures foryou to see, thx again for the input!

I would love the opportunity to see some pictures of the car and possibly make an offer on it. I'm actively looking for one of these right now so please let me know.

Here is a link to Hagerty's valuation tool where they put them between $20K and $50K. http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/H ... vc=1330296

I was at the Gooding & Co auction in Arizona this January and saw a 1973 2400 Coupe go for $55K and it was perfect.

Hi Joe, nice price for a nice but not original 2400 coupe!
Missing original wheels, logo's and some detailing!
Still…. prices seems to move up: maybe I should sell mine in the USA

Actually, the wheels are original Cromodora. It's just the hubcaps that are not the Fiat ones. Still, the price is incredible with respect to what else is out there! I wonder if it doesn't have to do with the ability and prestige of the auction. How else do you sell an Alfa Montreal for 176000$ ??
