Hi
Am looking for a good used complete fiat Dino generator. The original type without the built in regulator. A good rebuildable would also be fine
Let me know if you can help or if you know where I could get one (besides surperformance)..

Herve, the alternator from a 1967-1969 fiat 1500 is the same as that deployed in the Dino. You may just have to make sure the pinion has the same number of teeth. You can pick these up on eBay.it for relatively ok money. I know, because that is what I did!!
Best of luck.

what do you mean by the number of teeth? I don't see any teeth on the old one?

My apologies. I've gone mad. My information relates to the starter motor, not an alternator!
I'm going to lie down for a while and rest!!!!

Herve, have you tried looking at 124 alternators? If you have been searching for generators you may have been getting the wrong parts as an alternator and generator are different things (I'm sure you know this and it is probably a translation thing ). there are at least 2 types fitted to the Dino - with and without internal rectifiers but with a bit of bodging they should be interchangeable.

If you don't put importance on originality, you may try this:
http://www.wosperformance.co.uk/products/alternators/
A Dino fellow from Germany is using this alternator and very happy with it.
Dino alternators do not have a built-in rectifier; they have an external rectifier. However, there are a lot of conversions with built-in rectifier.
The Dino alternator is definitely also used on other cars, but I don't know which. Maybe you find a defective alternator and have it rebuilt. There is a good company for this in Germany (http://www.wjahn.de/). This is not too expensive.
