Some interesting data points in a softening market. Apparently the blue Spider had needs. Does anyone have personal knowledge of the car?

I am sure I have seen the Spider in the uk, but can't remember where or when... Paging Brian Boxal..

Not sure if this is indicating a softening of the market, or just illustrating the widening gap between average and excellent cars... Although at last years event, they had a couple of very average Dino's which sold for strong £££

That was a very rusty and tired looking Dino spider! Still, it's a disappointing result.

Have you seen the car or do you know it was so rusty?

The car was owned by Adrian Pini in the mid 1980's. I saw it at a car show, not sure if it was Goodwood or Brooklands. He was having difficulty getting it started, and I helped him rig up a temporary starter switch, and he was able to get it home. It had the Campagnolo wheels on back then. I have in my notes that it was blue/grey, and I'm fairly certain the colour it shows today is a respray to a more pale blue shade.if anyone knows who purchased it, I can offer some details that may help piece together the history of the car. You'll notice on the auction photos that it has visible corrosion on the bottom edge of the front wing, where it meets the door. A common place for the spider (and the coupe!) to corrode.

I wonder if we were at the same show.. most likely, although I def didn't help to get it started.

As crazy as this may sound, I was thinking it was at Syon House, which I suppose probably was mid 80's!

Hi there. Yes it may have been at the 1st or 2nd Dino Day that I organised in 1990 and 1991 at Syon Park, West London.

Was it really 90/91 at Syon.. I must have a look and see if I can find any photo's, I have a sneaking suspicion that I might have some!

Running my very amateur panel-beating eye over the pictures, this looks pretty poor in terms of straightness of the body. The crease lines are all over the place and the panel gaps are dodgy too - especially around the boot lid. A shiny coat of paint can hide a lot of filler and who-knows-what under the surface. The soft price could well be a reflection of this.
