A Dino coupe for 11k Euros

Post by HugoHarris »

Seems cheap to me: http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/31 ... e=1&ret=63
Maybe it's a scam, but if it isn't there may be a bargain for anyone brave enough to tackle the import red tape.

You are probably right - it seems our loved Dinos have been choosen by criminal persons as a tool in internet scams lately! Last year, I was contacted by
a person here in Sweden, looking for a Dino 2400 Coupe. He had spotted an ad at the Swedish used-car site "Bilgaraget.se" showing a red 2400 coupe
(looking to be in quite good condition) for under 10.000 Euros. The Stockholm telephone number in the ad was going to nobody, so the guy tried to e-mail
the seller, asking some basic details about the car, how many owners, mileage, and so on.
After two months (!!) he got a reply, saying the car was not in Sweden but in England, and a lot of details about shipping the car to Sweden, and
instructions over payment saying the seller wanted 30 % of the price in advance, but the shipping cost was included in the price, and the buyer
had all rights to send the car back, if not satisfied with its condition.
I contacted Brian Boxall in England about this car, and he had seen no ads in England about this Dino at all, a fact that would make you think twice
about it. -Why try selling a Dino in Sweden only, when the car is in England - with a much bigger market for these cars? Why would you offer the
interested buyers shipping the car to them, if they not have asked you about it? And - more obvious - why sell a car for half the estimated market
price?
It must be a scam!
