Or you might check if there is oil in your coolant.
Or if there is a lot of pressure in you cooling system when running.
Or try a leakdown test of your cooling system.
Or check for steam in your exhaust gasses.
All signs of a leaking head gasket. But then it is time to take the heads of anyway.

So I checked the chain tension and valve clearances today. The chains were slack. The r/h chain when moved up and down turned the outlet camshaft.
I think I have corrected the tensions. Then I check the valve clearances with the following results..
cyl in out
1 .12 .35
2 .11 .40
3 .11 .27
4 .25 .35
5 .15 .30
6 .15 .40
Cylinder 3 was the lower compression cylinder.
What do you make of this?

To be honest not today but last weekend I mounted my left cylinderhead as a part of my complete engine rebuild.
This weekend I start to put the right one together - my hands will hurt for shure after grinding in the next 6 valves...
...but hopefully I can drive my Dino again next spring...

Wrapping up full rebuild of suspension and brake system...rear is done, need to install sway bar. Had to fabricate a couple of mandrels from tool steel for pulling hub bushings. New brake hoses, stainless lined caliper bores, etc. New gear oil + additive (need 2 small bottles!) for diff and trans as well.
Front end is waiting on bushings.

Today I replaced the boot lid (trunk lid) release cable.
I made my own up from parts bought at Flanders Co. http://www.flanderscables.com/
It works so much better now - very happy.

Re: So what did you do to your Dino today?
While my dino was out for repairing some previous damage i took the opportunity to fix my door hinges.
Plastic bushes in the hinges were non existing anymore, which resulted in excessive play on the door, so i just made some new ones myself from brass. Will last some time i guess.
Also found out that the door hinges are matching the serial number of my car because the number is stamped into the hinge, are the doors and boot also supposed to match the chassis? Found the number on the bonnet as well but so far not yet on the doors and bootlid.
