67 Dino Spider Convertible Top Color

Post by DinoinATL »

I have a green 67 (color code 388) and the convertible top is currently beige which is lighter in color than the brownish/orange interior. I would better describe the top as resembling khaki. What is the correct color of the top as it was shipped from factory? Somone told me that it was likely a black top with a beige interior on the green/verde paint color. Can anyone confirm?

Hi

In the body parts catalog`s there is only 2 part numbers available:

P/N:
1903336 - Tela rivestimento compl.(Canvas covering complete) - Scocca -190500 (Series 1)
1903913 - Tela rivestimento compl.(Canvas covering complete) - Scocca 190501- (Series 2)
1903913 - Tela rivestimento compl.(Canvas covering complete) - Fiat Dino Spider 2400

Colors are not mentioned, but since there is only "one" partnumber available, I would suspect it is black in color hence all original documentation/ pictures available.

I also have a green '67 spider (Nr. 153) with a beige interior and a black top. The top is pretty old but I don't know whether or not it has ever been changed.

Thank you for the input. I am restoring the interior and installing a new top which will be black.

It is possible to tell if your top has been changed I believe!
Look at the webbing straps inside the car that connect the bows together. They run from the windshield to the bow that has the wooden nailing strip.
Look carefully at the edges of these strips. Originals are embossed with the Pininfarina logo.
I ordered a new top from Italy that’s stated they were From Pininfarina, but if it’s true they done emboss the straps, you have to cut them from the material they leave in when they install the rear vinyl.
Maybe they meant Pininfarina design🥴
Too many motos and cars, not enough life left! :D
