What is the widest tire you can fit on a 2400 coupe?
And who makes tires for these cars?

Thanks

The regular size is 205 mm. It might be possible to fit wider tires. But I don't have any experience regarding this. In my humble opinion, 205 is perfect for this car.
Concerning the manufacturers, refer to these threads:

If you want the original look, then the michelin XWX are a close match for the period Cinturato. Pirelli now also has a classic collection which comes pretty close as well. For cheaper, you can pick up a set of Vredestein that will also look ok. Otherwise, Toyo had the correct size in modern tyres.
hope this helps,
Dario

About a month ago I ordered a set of 4 Pirelli CN36 from Longstone, see them here: https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/205-70 ... -cn36.html Arrived to the US blindingly fast. Ordered them a Sunday afternoon and were received on Thursday, with a not-unreasonable shipping charge of $86.

The tires look great and perform very well as indicated in one of the road tests referenced on the links above.

Hi, can anyone comment on what tire a 1970/71 Spider would have left the factory with - Michelin or Pirelli?

Someone told me recently that Pirellis have been fitted.

All Fiat Dino 2400 were originally equipped with Pirelli CN 36 in 205/70 14. This tire was specifically developed for the Fiat Dino, but not available before 1969 (as the independent rear axle and the cast iron engine block).
Fortunately, this tire is available in excellent quality.

Now, I remember, who told me ;)

Many thanks. So is it the consensus that the Pirelli CN36 is the "right choice" for a 2400 Spider - up till now I assumed Michelin XWX is the way to go. I'm going to be ordering a set in the next few weeks and don't want to regret at leisure!

Opinions differ. Both are good tires. You're on the right side with both. In my humble opinion, the XWX just looks a bit better.
