Restauration 2.4 Spider

Post by Argonaut »

Dear members,

after having shared this restauration already with the German forum, I want to do the same here in this forum as I do think that many aspects are not only interesting but some topics might be unknown to all of us.
This car is a rare German delivery from 1971; original color was rosso vivo; nowadays with only something like 58 K kilometers but was in a very bad state. I was aware but got the mechanical issues fixed when I bought her 7 years ago. With this car I was down in Italy at least 7 times and she used to be very reliable. But I could not ignore the shell which was in a very poor state.

With this series I want to let you participate in the restoration. So.. car delivered 17 months ago to 24hundred in the UK; start of the work this early January. If you are having some hours in the evening... and not too much can irritate you anymore... those videos are for you.

Gunnar, your car is in the hands of the best Dino bodywork guru. It will be perfect when Mark has finished with it.

Thanks for pointing out the link. I’ve watched each episode so far. I am amazed at how well a car can look with the kind of “ backyard body shop” work.
Mark has the knowledge and patience obviously to do it right. Giving these body shells to anyone except a Dino expert is asking for trouble as we can see.
Mark is also very good at answering comments on his YouTube site.
Thanks again, this will be an amazing series.
