Ciao, what is your opinion regarding the choice of my mechanic regarding spark plugs for a 2400?

I agree with Georg - take NGK.
With wrong plugs, you can ruin your engine if too hot or ruin driveability if too cold.
Personally I prefer NGK BPR7 EIX in combination wit the original Dinoplex- they ensure safe engine cold start even in Emergenza mode.

Thank you, I will follow your suggestion. Actually I’m not using the Dinoplex since the 80s, but I’m running on a Porsche-Bosch original unit.
Of course I have my original ac103 unit in the warehouse.

I know it's not considered exquisitely original using such a Bosch control unit, but actually it was common use among the Italian mechanics during the 80's switch to the Porsche ECU. Why? Simply because they were exasperated by the lack of reliability of the Magneti Marelli one, thus they were suggesting the customers to accept the conversion. In my opinion all that makes it somehow acceptable and historically correct to maintain the non original unit.
What is your opinion?

No problem with the Bosch ignition
But please note: the Dinoplex IS reliable!
It is from Magneti Marelli, not from Lucas (god of darkness), so the Dinoplex is an innovative masterpiece of engineering.

Moreover, the Dinoplex should have a much more powerful spark. As far as I know, only MSD and Winterburn achieve a similar spark.

Lucas is merely the “Prince of Darkness”!
Lucas of course used to build refrigerators, it’s why the English drink warm beer
