Very, very nice... please keep posting photos... especially the detailed pictures... as many cars out there are badly repaired with solutions in all kinds of spots we do not wanna see

Here is a current link to my restoration process. We hope to have the engine and transmission in within two weeks. I just finished the wiring configuration of the 4 main relays. I will post a complete detail of the color wiring for each relays.
The vacuum pump and tank are finished, now working on the brake lines.

I am along with many others following the gorgeous details of your restoration. It's just amazing! Kudos in the highest on the many, many details being carefully attended to.
I've got #1396's engine out and while it's getting done, I'm attempting to take care of some of those many same details around the engine bay. I was curious about what paint shades and finishes of black you've been using and what type of anodizing you've selected on the various metal pieces such as the hood releases. They look excellent! My car's engine bay got shot with a rattlecan of flat black at some point and it's kind of a mess. Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated by myself and perhaps others as well.
I'm loving the work you are doing and look forward to following it with you!

To be honest, the reason why my car is starting to look this good is because I am passionate about it.
I also believe that all of us Dino owners, now share a certain responsibility to maintain and restore to our the best of our ability for future genetations.
These Dino's were left for dead just a few years ago. Now these cars are considered by many as a top-down "Ferrari's"
I have owned several cars and this Dino is one of the best car and best support group I have run across.

To answer you question, the engine bay that I used was a black satin finish. Not Flat and Not glossy.

I don't have the name of the brand used. I can ask by body shop. Will your car go to a body shop or will you paint this yourself.
A can of paint can he used. Try Wurth and VHT, I would highly recommend that you use purple degreaser before. That will bring your firewall and surrounding areas real nice and clean. Scrub as much as you can with a wire brush or 000 steel wool.

You can easily clean your brake and fuel lines with a steel wool and brass or chrome cleaners. Yellow cad and nickel cad can be used for the lights and hood latches. If you don't feel like shipping your stuff out to get cad plated, there are cad paint kit's that also do a pretty decent job.

You set the bar pretty high! Keep up the good work, and thanks so much for the info! How about the engine ancillary components, are you using the same satin finish, as they appear a little higher gloss. Did any part of the engine bay give you particular difficulty? I sure appreciate your photos and help.

1492 will be going into a different stage next week. Hopefully, next week we will put the heavy stuff, rear end, axle, transmission, engine.
Next week I will be able to get more shot of the entire car. All my electrical, and most of my chrome are done. I have not installed my windshield yet. The reason being, I am still cleaning the wiring harness making sure we have a great running car first.

It's so cool to find old hires covered in dust and grime still working and with a little effort. They clean up real nice. I like to keep this car as original as I can.
