I am about to remove the rear axle and springs on my 2000 coupe. Can someone tell me if by removing the spring hanger plates to the rear and the bolt through the front end of the spring will release it all from the car or is there another method to get it off the car?

The leaf springs on the 2l cars are not under tension making removal safe and easy. Axle is simple to remove too. Remove nuts holding U straps will free the axle from spring - disconnect reaction struts to complete the job. No unwanted surprises here!
