1967 Coupe Gauge Bezel Finish

I am having my gauges redone. The question is the finish on the bezels. The original gauges seem to be a beige or almost gold color, while the replacements are definitely a solid black color.
The restorer seems to think that the bezels were originally black, but have worn done to a beige color.
My 1967 coupe has a goby (darker beige) interior that is original. Does anyone know what the bezels color should be - Black or beige?
