If you mean the item in the box below, it's the tensioner for that side of the engine. There is one chain for each side.

Yes. I mean that boxed thing. But, the tensioner is in the oher side. I have the latest style, and I have been playing with it. If this is another tensioner, how can I know if it is properly adjusted?

You should get yourself a User manual and parts catalogue.

Yes Its TDC of cyl. 3. The Other Mark is for idle advance. You should put some coulor on the mark.

The "boxed thing" is the chain guide. No thing to Do with chain Tension. There are also dino heads without.

Got a 246 manual. I haven't seen any reference of the chain guide. My noisy chain could be becouse that guide incorrectly adjusted? I have been in the field with other fiat and ferrari engines, but this is my first adventure with this one.. I still need to learn a lot about it..
