Fuel Pump Ticking

Post by Dino94 »

Hi all,

Im new to the Fiat Dino Forum where I have recently purchased a 72 Dino 2400 Coupe(Here's a picture) I have just changed the oil and was going to start the car, where I hear the fuel pump ticking non stop is that normal? And when I took the fuel filter off and go to kick the car over no petrol comes out of the hose. Is this the sign that the fuel pump has gone and no longer pumping or could it be something else? If so where can I purchase one from?

Thanks,
Mat

Do you run out of fuel when driving? If not, the pump works. It depends on the type of pump if it keeps ticking.

Disconnect the hose from the pump, and blow some air from the carb side. Yo will find out if the line is blocked. Also check the return line.
