We think my hot stall problem in my 67 spider is due to either a clogged fuel filter or an erratic electric fuel pump. I’m changing both. I have a new complete fuel filter and regulator assembly. It looks pretty straightforward to swap this out with the current assembly. The regulator instruction booklet says it comes with the max pressure already set via the top nut. Is there anything I need to be aware of to swap out the assembly? Clearly need to get the ports correct with inflow and outflow.
The fuel pump also looks straightforward. Disconnect power, clamp fuel lines, ground the pump and connect power, get the ports correct is there anything else I need to do? I’m swapping like for like parts.
Thanks.

Re: Changing fuel filter and electric fuel pump
Check the fuel pump supply and ground including the whole wiring.
My Dino broke down in Austria this year and sat 4 months in the garage. It turned out that the reason was a cut fuel pump supply after startup due to a failed fuse hidden behind the dashboard that did not belong in the circuit. Moreover, the wiring was not as intended anymore what caused wrong assumptions during troubleshooting.
A few years ago, I had another fuel pump supply issue due to a corroded ground cable that lost contact when hot.

Re: Changing fuel filter and electric fuel pump
I recommend in addition also to check the fuel pump relay and also the oil pressure switch that is connected to this relay.
Re: Changing fuel filter and electric fuel pump
This is great feedback everyone! Where is the fuel pump relay generally located? I guess since an electric fuel pump is an aftermarket add that it could be anywhere on the chassis. I intend to get into this project this weekend. Thank you!

Re: Changing fuel filter and electric fuel pump
The fuel pump relay is behind the glove box under the dashboard.
